and I think to myself…what a confusing world

A lot of things confuse me in this world….

like why they put corned beef in those rectangular tins with the keys that break off, so you have to use the caveman within you to use what tools you can find around the house to break into it…..

or why when you wake up after a nap, you end up so disorientated from what time and day it is…. Continue reading

A virus, lots of beer, and a penguin

ImageSitting in on a bank holiday….purely because I have nothing better to do, yet I can’t be bothered to work. My current motto seems to be “if no-one else is working, then why should I?” All I have done so far is play a bit of on-line pool, make a sandwich, watch some 24, and struggle to play the guitar because I’ve played it so much recently my fingertips are dead. So I thought why not update you all on what’s been going on!…

He’s funny! Lets all listen to him!

This morning on the radio, I heard that Russell Brand is to stand in the House of Commons and address MPs on how drug addiction is a disease. I’m not against him or what he’s saying but the fact that this was actually happening made me furious…

There are scientific articles on the internet that go back to 1993 discussing how drug addiction is a disease. So, who hasn’t told the government the last 19 years?… Continue reading

A Controversial Way of Life

A bit of a post on my beliefs and what I’m really thinking inside my head when I see things going on out in the world, read on if you wish…. Continue reading

American Pie – Acoustic Cover (with vocals)

I dared to do it…takes some guts but I recorded me doing a proper cover. I’m sure you all know the song American Pie by Don Mclean. I sang along to make it a bit more interesting, mock me if you want, I know im not a good singer, but I enjoy doing it. So live with it or don’t watch it =P

Also the last verse and last chorus are missing, my memory card decided that it was full, but I’m sure 6 minutes of song is more than enough for you to listen to. This is after about 4 months on the guitar…don’t think I’m doing bad…. Continue reading

March Mash Up

At a house party on Friday I was questioned by probably my blogs biggest fan.. Paul “Captain Birdseye” Jarman  as to why I hadn’t written a blog in the last 3 weeks. My response was “really? 3 weeks eh? hadn’t realised.” He then went on to tell me how avidly each day he checked my blog and thought “Maybe today would be the day Luke writes a new post”. So this one is for you big lad!… shame you’re not on the internet for the next week…hahahahaha! ….

…I’ve been half the world away recently

I’ve been wondering what to write in a post recently, and I’ve been struggling… I thought I’ve just been playing pool, working and strumming on my guitar. So I thought, you know what, I’ll post a bit of my strumming for you ;)

I decided to video myself playing “Half The World Away” by Oasis, if you don’t know the original song you can find it here…

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=47mYsyjiYIM

I made a few mistakes (only human..and I’ve only been playing a couple of months) and I need to replace my strings; so it doesn’t sound as nice as it could. But hey…here goes nothing, if you like it maybe in a month or two i’ll try another song and hopefully the quality will increase. Also… I don’t sing…this is a difficult song to sing along to (for me), plus playing the guitar is complicated enough…

Pool Tournaments, AGMs, and a Guitar

Its been a while since I last posted, so I’ve rummaged a Becks out of my vegetable drawer in the fridge, cracked itunes on shuffle, and I think its time to update you all with recent events.

Sheffield University BUCS Pool Tournament – Great Yarmouth

I can tell you now, walking into a room full of around 40 English pool tables, being tended to by referees dressed in Tuxedos, brushing down and ironing the tables is quite a surreal experience the first time you see it.

One thing our team quickly found out was that the dress code was extremely strict. Two of our players had to go and change their trousers before they were allowed to play their matches, why?… Well one was wearing grey trousers instead of black, the other had black trousers but had black studs on the corners of the pockets. Mental or what?… Continue reading

When Bad Days Go Good!

I awoke at 3.30am…thought it was just another one of those times when you wake up and drift off again, but there were some loud tribal drums coming from somewhere, I was extremely confused. It turned out the neighbour who lives in the flat above me, they had decided to play music full blast and sing along to it while wandering around the house.

GREAT!….I thought they must be drunk and they’ve come back home not realising what they were doing, so I left it thinking they’d turn it off soon. By 4am I began to realise that this music wasn’t turning off, so I got dressed and buzzed the flat, politely asked for them to turn it down and they agreed (didn’t sound drunk though). I went back to bed…and the music was just as loud, by 5am I gave up and just got up and did some work…. Continue reading
