March Mash Up

At a house party on Friday I was questioned by probably my blogs biggest fan.. Paul “Captain Birdseye” Jarman  as to why I hadn’t written a blog in the last 3 weeks. My response was “really? 3 weeks eh? hadn’t realised.” He then went on to tell me how avidly each day he checked my blog and thought “Maybe today would be the day Luke writes a new post”. So this one is for you big lad!… shame you’re not on the internet for the next week…hahahahaha! ….

Pool Tournaments, AGMs, and a Guitar

Its been a while since I last posted, so I’ve rummaged a Becks out of my vegetable drawer in the fridge, cracked itunes on shuffle, and I think its time to update you all with recent events.

Sheffield University BUCS Pool Tournament – Great Yarmouth

I can tell you now, walking into a room full of around 40 English pool tables, being tended to by referees dressed in Tuxedos, brushing down and ironing the tables is quite a surreal experience the first time you see it.

One thing our team quickly found out was that the dress code was extremely strict. Two of our players had to go and change their trousers before they were allowed to play their matches, why?… Well one was wearing grey trousers instead of black, the other had black trousers but had black studs on the corners of the pockets. The Cricket Chronicles: Part Deux

Did you fall over the stumps or something?

I think I was around 17, so this is a good 4 or 5 years back now, but I was on a bus ride back from my mates house hungover. When I got back home dad said that Wharfedale 2nd XI had rung and asked if I could play that day. Even hungover, it’s not an offer you turn down when you’re as bad as cricket as me. So I went and played for them that day.

We had finished batting, and I hadn’t done a terrible job when I was in so I was fairly chuffed. It then came to fielding, and it was getting close so everyone was getting very serious. I was stood in the slips, the ball went shooting past me so I started chasing it… Continue reading

Sport has never been a strongpoint in my life. Apart from when I had a growth spurt and could still continue to walk across the rugby pitch with 5 other students clinging to me to stop me in year 7, that didn’t last though.
